Assemblin is selected by E.ON for a new substation in Norrköping, Sweden

Assemblin Electrical has been selected to deliver electrical, high voltage and ventilation installations to the new Sylten substation in Norrköping. The assignment is being carried out as a turnkey contract for E.ON Energidistribution and includes two buildings that together replace older parts. The assignment is worth over 150 MSEK.

The new station is part of E.ON's long-term development of the region's electrical infrastructure. The project places great emphasis on creating a modern facility with high operational reliability and a future-proof design. The station will have an exterior brick facade that will blend into the future, more public surroundings. All technical equipment is placed indoors to adapt to the surrounding environment. The project will start in 2026 and is expected to be completed in 2029.

“This is a significant project for the region's energy supply and we are very proud that E.ON has chosen Assemblin as a partner. Our experts in Power (high voltage) have extensive experience in complex construction projects where quality, coordination and stable implementation are crucial,” says Jonas Klarén, CEO of Assemblin El, SVP.

The Sylten transformer station is part of E.ON's broader investment in strengthening and modernising the electricity grid, with a focus on operational reliability, efficiency and long-term sustainability to meet future needs in the region.

“For us, it is important to have a partner who can contribute both technical expertise and reliable cooperation throughout the entire process. Assemblin has shown that they can handle large and complex projects with high quality, and we look forward to a good implementation,” says Jonas Hansson, Primary Substations Supply Chain, Energy Networks Sweden, E.ON.
