Assemblin to complete installations in new, advanced specialist hospital in Gothenburg
Following its involvement in the planning and design phases for the new Högsbo specialist hospital in Gothenburg, Assemblin has now also signed a contract for the installation of electrical and telecommunications systems in connection with the construction of the hospital. The value of the installation assignment is estimated at SEK 150 million.
The project, managed by Skanska, covers the construction of a new hospital building and a supply building covering 27,300 square meters, along with connected parking space. The hospital building, which will be five storeys tall, will house a clinic, operating theatres and resources for imaging and specimen collection, and be certified Miljöbyggnad Silver.
The Högsbo specialist hospital is a regional project being carried out by Västfastigheter, Sjukhusen i väster, Regionservice and VGR IT. It will be built on the same site where the current Högsbo hospital is located. It will replace the Frölunda specialist hospital and take over other outpatient surgery operations in Gothenburg. Assemblin has been given the assignment of installing the electrical and telecommunications systems.

Construction will begin immediately, and the hospital will be ready to admit its first patients by the end of 2023.
