Assemblin sets its own safety standard

Many of our workplaces are hazardous environments. Therefore we at Assemblin attach great importance to our work environment and to health and safety. We work safely – or not at all.

In the construction industry it is common for subcontractors, such as installation and service companies, to adapt to comply with the client’s work environment requirements. This means that safety levels vary from project to project.

But as one of the largest installation and service companies in the Nordic region, we at Assemblin wish to set our own standard. This will mean our employees can feel confident that we are looking out for their safety – no matter who the client is.

“We work safely or not at all. It seems obvious to me, and so it must be for all of us in any situation, regardless of the circumstances. As an employer we have to set our own level and standard. We owe it to our employees,” says Mats Johansson, President and CEO of Assemblin.

On 6-10 May, Assemblin Health and Safety Week will take place at all Assemblin locations in Sweden, Norway and Finland. The purpose of this week-long event is to raise awareness concerning the work environment and health and safety issues, and to identify new ways to deal with these preventatively.

The activities are adapted to the needs and wishes of each branch, and include safety inspections, training, risk assessments, crisis management exercises, workshops and much more.

“Our Health and Safety Week is the most important week of the year. During that time we focus fully on our work environment and remind each other to work safely. We have a systematic approach, with good tools and equipment to help us do everything properly, but without the right approach and attitude to safety, we won’t get anywhere,” says Mats Johansson.
