Property automation and industrial automation

Automation in a building means that several technical systems in a building (for example, the ventilation, heating and lighting) can be interconnected, remotely controlled and integrated with intelligent software to, for example, optimise a building’s energy consumption in real time. IoT solutions are often used based on smart sensors that can be connected to information from inside or outside the building but also to third-party information (e.g. weather forecasts). Individual metering and charging (IMC)

Another service in smart buildings is individual metering and charging (IMC). IMC is a method for reducing the energy needs for heating through reduced indoor temperature and reduced use of domestic hot water in apartment buildings. This is done using meters in the apartments that measure consumption at an individual level, which makes it possible to charge households separately based on actual consumption. In July 2021, IMC requirements were introduced in certain apartment buildings in Sweden. However, IMC can also be beneficial for apartment buildings that are not covered by the requirements, as it can lead to reduced energy consumption and thus reduced costs.
